Hidden beneath a layer of cute woodland creatures is the ultimate asymmetric game of warfare and Choose one of four different and opposing woodland factions in this 2-4 player asymmetric strategy game. Each group has its own strategy and victory conditions that you must take into consideration as you play as a member of the Cats, the Eyrie, the Alliance, or the Vagabonds.
We also have an expansion that adds two new factions, new vagabonds, and new game modes, available here at Root: The Riverfolk Expansion.

Leder Games, founded by Patrick Leder in 2014, is a prominent board game development company located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Renowned for its unique asymmetric games, Leder Games has brought to life popular titles such as Root and Oath: Chronicles of Empire and Exile, both crafted by designer Cole Wehrle. As of 2023, the distinctive artwork for the company's games is typically provided by illustrator Kyle Ferrin.
History
Patrick Leder, the visionary behind Leder Games, began his journey into board game design as a hobby in 2001. With academic credentials in English and psychology from Hamline University, Leder transitioned from his role as a database programmer at Macalester College in 2016 to fully dedicate himself to his burgeoning game development company.
